নভেনা মানে নয়-দিনের প্রার্থনা — যেমন প্রেরিতরা ও মরিয়ম স্বর্গারোহণ ও পঞ্চাশত্তমীর মাঝে নয় দিন প্রার্থনা করেছিলেন। একটানা নয় দিন, প্রতিদিন প্রার্থনা করুন: ১. ক্রুশচিহ্ন করুন। ২. শুরু: "হে স্নেহময় পরমপিতা, আমি বিশ্বাস নিয়ে তোমার সামনে আসি। [সাধুর নাম বলুন]-এর মধ্যস্থতার মাধ্যমে আমার প্রার্থনা শোনো।" ৩. তোমার নির্দিষ্ট অভিপ্রায় প্রকাশ করো। ৪. বলুন: প্রভুর প্রার্থনা, প্রণাম মরিয়ম, এবং পরমপিতার গৌরব। ৫. সেই সাধু বা প্রভুর কাছে একটি ছোট প্রার্থনা (যেমন "সাধু N., আমাদের জন্য প্রার্থনা করো")। ৬. সমাপনী: "পরমপিতা, পুত্র এবং পবিত্র আত্মার নামে। আমেন।" বিশ্বাস ও অধ্যবসায়ে প্রার্থনা করুন — ঈশ্বর সর্বদা সেইভাবে উত্তর দেন যা আমাদের পরিত্রাণের জন্য সর্বোত্তম।

A novena is a nine-day prayer, modelled on the nine days the Apostles and Mary spent in prayer between the Ascension and Pentecost. On each of nine consecutive days, pray: 1. Sign of the Cross. 2. Opening: "Loving Father, I come before you in trust. Hear my prayer through the intercession of [name your saint or title]." 3. Your specific intention. 4. Pray: Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be. 5. A short prayer to the saint or to the Lord (e.g. "Saint N., pray for us"). 6. Closing: "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." Pray with faith and perseverance — God always answers in the way that is best for our salvation.
